Rendering 3D image does have a good and a bad side.

Good: lots of time for "administrative stuff"
Bad: all CPU resources are being used up over long periods of time. No artistic productivity!
Solution: need another computer :(
Problem: cash is reserved for CS4!
Quintessence: more waiting :|

I like the community. Critique would be helpful though!

3D, 2D, gotta bring it on!
Artist | Hobbyist | Digital Art
Austria
I started doing graphic design in '98. Since then I have done more boring layout, ads, retouch and promotional stuff than I care for and totally didn't give my art the attention it deserved. Last January 2009 I switched to 3D. And that brought up that I need to improve ALL my skills to get anywhere.
Thus you'll find lots of newb stuff here next to some items I regard usable. Then again I'm mostly here to become BETTER :)

Cool!! Build yourself a softbox or 2. Cheap with daylight lamps from the department store, a shoebox to fix 'em into, breaker switches for flexibility (2€ for 4) a big cardboard box, aluminium foil and tips from Google :D Stuff 5 of those lamps (15-27Watts) into the box and you have sunshine@home. Get your bf or dad to help with the electricity if you need. Best for starting out - light makes or breaks it!
And: thanks! :D
